Latest-generation technology for tracking processes and people
Our service is built on IoT (Internet of Things) infrastructure, which lets every active element in the environment interact with the rest.
- We activate people and objects within a process, obtaining relevant information — position and multiple variables — by fitting a tag to each unit.
- We use BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and RTLS (Real Time Location System) technology to determine position and dwell time indoors.
- Our Smart Industry system, developed entirely in-house by Alfametrics, uses the latest available tools and technologies to deliver all processed information efficiently.

Professionals on the team
Mining
Personnel, equipment and inventory located live, underground and in the open pit, without depending on GPS or fixed read gates.
Personnel location and control
Personnel monitoring and control in underground and open pit mines, improving worker safety and the information available to the operation. Identify and locate company assets live, wherever they are.
Real productivity: Time on Tools
How much of the shift is actually spent on the task, and how much on travel, waiting and stoppages. The indicator comes from real movement on site, not from a spreadsheet filled in by hand at the end of the day.
Work, rest, meal and travel zones
Every zone on site is defined in the system: work face, change house, canteen, muster point and the travel between them. Dwell time and zone changes record themselves, and productive time versus support time stops being argued from memory.
Precise positioning underground
Using AlfaUnits IoT devices, latest-generation RTLS technology and artificial intelligence, we determine position to within a few centimetres and how that position moves, including where GPS does not reach.
Inventory that actually exists
No ghost inventory
Ghost inventory is stock the system declares and the site cannot find. With every unit tagged, existence stops being a declaration and becomes a position: what is there is there, and you know where.
Fewer losses in the yard, fewer duplicate purchases
Equipment that cannot be found in the yard or the warehouse ends up in a purchase order for something already bought. Locating the unit, and knowing how long it has sat still, breaks that cycle before the order is raised.
FIFO, expiry and minimum stock
Consume first what arrived first and stop a batch expiring in the warehouse. Define business rules per item — minimums, expiry dates, maximum dwell times — and have the system raise the alert or trigger replenishment, integrated with your ERP over a REST API.
Access, vehicle movements and AI video analytics
Vehicle counting and movement classification
How many vehicles come in and out, of what type, and at what point in the shift. Site traffic stops being estimated and starts being counted, with classification done by the system itself.
Licence plate recognition and traceability
Automatic plate reading at the gatehouse and control points, with the entry and exit history of every vehicle available for review, without anyone writing down a plate by hand.
AI risk detection
Detection of worker fatigue, equipment failures, hazardous conditions, theft and suspicious activity. The camera stops being a record reviewed after an incident and starts raising the alert while it happens.
Measure the process, don't monitor the person
Chile's Law 21,719 on personal data protection takes effect on 1 December 2026, and a worker's location is personal data: measuring it requires a declared purpose, proportionality and data minimisation. That is why productivity indicators are delivered aggregated by crew, shift and zone, and not as individual tracking. The company remains the data controller; what we contribute is the technical traceability to support that position.
How it works on siteOther industries
The same traceability platform, applied to the critical processes of each sector. The detail pages for these are currently available in Spanish only.
Smart Agro
Control and monitor your post-harvest processes, reducing the exposure times that affect fruit condition and commercial return. Automate the stacking of pallets and bins in cold storage chambers.

Traceability and telemetry for plants and distribution centres: position and dwell time of every inventory unit, bottleneck identification, and production environment data in a single dashboard.
See Smart Industry (in Spanish)Health+
Track the real-time location of beds, equipment, operating theatre supplies and every asset needed across healthcare facilities. Identify where patients and medical staff are.
Retail+
Monitor and pinpoint the exact location of your inventory and assets. Determine usage cycles, maintenance schedules and return on utilisation.
Services
Unlock your operation's potential with our service modules.
Automated historical traceability
A record of every event across the workflow — dwell times, zone changes and more. Access the full traceability history of each inventory unit.
Online inventory
See and organise all inventory active in the workflow, know where it is, and identify bottlenecks quickly.
Precise positioning
A powerful positioning tool accurate to centimetres. Its main applications are location and heat maps for people, as well as inventory stacking.
Early alerts
Take action before a monitored unit moves out of range, or when the process deviates.
Logistics 360
Track the entire logistics process — sea, air or land — for containers, with information on the cold chain and stage changes available at every point in the cycle.
Dashboard and REST API
Access all the information from our modules through our dashboard, on desktop, smartphone or tablet. Integrate your ERP with our system, unifying data bidirectionally.
Industry 4.0
Add telemetry tools to capture data from the whole production environment: electrical consumption, motor ON/OFF status, fluid leaks, gas measurement and more. (Ask us about the full range of measurement capabilities.)
Computer vision and AI
Vehicle counting, movement classification and automatic licence plate recognition. Plus detection of worker fatigue, equipment failures, hazardous conditions, theft and suspicious activity, raising the alert while events happen.

Frequently asked questions
A few answers to the questions we hear most.
-
Is this an RFID service? How is it different?
No. RFID is a technology that predates the 1960s and reacts to an external frequency, usually emitted by a fixed read gate. Our BLE technology makes it possible to know where a device is at all times, with no gates required. That allows high accuracy in both position and variable measurement.
-
How is precise positioning possible indoors and underground, without GPS?
Precise positioning is achieved with AlfaUnits IoT devices deployed across the zones to be covered. Using latest-generation RTLS technology and artificial intelligence, it is possible to determine a position to within a few centimetres — and, beyond that, how that position moves within the space.
-
Are these devices safe to use?
Absolutely. All our equipment is designed with materials that are harmless to food and sensitive materials. The data transmission frequencies do not affect or interfere with other nearby devices. Likewise, transmitted data is held to high information security standards.
-
Is this service expensive?
Not at all. Alfametrics absorbs much of the start-up cost, and the subscription model (SaaS) is sized to the needs being covered.
-
How can we try it on our own operation?
We offer several time-boxed pilot plans so clients can experience the benefits of Alfametrics technology first hand. Get in touch to find out more.
